My basement has a distinct wet cement smell to it. It's a finished basement and it still has that smell. I hope the foundation isn't so wet that it's crumbling or something. We probably need to have it waterproofed again.

My basement was leaking because of cracks on the wall. I was upset because I had those fixed before. Then I called a concrete waterproofing guy to check my basement. He addressed several issues with the plumbing and sealing of the wall. I had those issues fixed right away and I didn’t have any problems after that.
